PAULTON ROVERS (Winterfield Road)

Monday 19th October 2009
Southern League
Division One South & West
Paulton Rovers 1-1 Yate Town
Attendance: 270

The first part of a hectic week started in Somerset and the Bristol Derby between Paulton Rovers and Yate Town. Both teams have had an even start to the season and only a couple of points separated them at the start of play. The game was suprisingly lacklustre affair, considering it was a derby, with lots of scrappy play and silly mistakes.

Yate had the better of the first half and took the lead after 34 minutes when Mark Reynolds headed home unmarked from a corner. The visitors let the home team back in right on half time when a long punt upfield was chased by Chris Lane and, as the 'keeper rushed out, he lobbed him from 30 yards. The second half was one way traffic as the home team were much more domininant but they could not find that elusive winner.
